So studying this forum I ended up going with a 3” lift kit and P285/70R17 Toyo’s with Fuel Vapor wheels and a -12 offset. I think it looks and drives great. However I do have a slight bit of rub at just the right angle of turn in the back of the front wheel wells. I understand that’s extremely common. So doing more research everyone says to do a CMC. I watched lots of videos and also found a member here that does them but I do have some questions I could not find answers to using the search function here. The biggest part of the CMC (see below picture) seems to be cutting and reducing the frame where I have the red X. However that’s not where my tire(s) is rubbing. Not even close. Mine is rubbing in the blue circle area primarily the left part of the blue circle. I would think for my truck tire well the most benefit we would be to remove material in the yellow circle area. What are your thoughts on this? Is the yellow circle area a common place for rubbing in lots of other Tacoma‘s? Thanks. 4F4223A3-DEFA-458A-81BC-A3EE3EC37B72.jpg

Cut it out there and push the fender liner back in

Cut it with a utility knife or heavy duty siccsors. You can even cut the sheet metal with a dremel

My rubbing went away after my alignment 4.5 caster (jba uca), so i didn't need to cut the sheet metal. I'm 285/75/17 with .75 wheel spacers

I used a Dremel to cut off that blue nub you have circled.

So who can cut the blue and the yellow in the picture above to the point of no more rubbing but will make it look like it was factory done? I don’t want it to look like it’s been cut. Someone must do this. If they can cut the frame, re-weld a piece, prime and paint it to look like factory I’m sure someone can do the same thing with the plastic.
