    When installing 37/12.50R17's does the mid cab mount need to be moved back or is a CMC sufficient?

    If I had to chop my cab mount for 33s, I would imagine you have to do a lot for 37s

    You need lots more than a CMC. It does depend on how high you have the body lifted in addition to relocating the body mount. Your inner fender will need a redesign as well. How much depends on rim offset/tire width/spacers (body and wheel)/long or mid travel. So, yeah, you need to move your cab mount back.

    That uses the existing mid cab mount hole in the body and moves the mount back on the frame. I would like to know if the actual hole for the body mount on the body itself needs to be moved back.

    6" lift, 37/12.50R17, 17x8 -10 offset (4.1" backspace).

    I'm sure I could figure this out (install tire, make some marks, take off tire, cut, install tire, make some marks, take off tire, etc...) but I'm positive this has been done before and I'd rather learn from someone else's labor.

    Is this for offroad use or for show? There are other factors needed to be taken into consideration as well

    My cutting interferes with the current body mount hole. I went with Red Goat Fab and completely moved the mount and drilled a new hole. I am sure if you cut enough to fully articulate 37" tires (true 37, not BFG 37) even with a 1" body lift you will interfere with the factory cab mount hole.

    They are BFG 37's, lol, 36.5" diameter. It sounds like I should plan on moving the hole back anyway. I might go to a different brand tire someday and I'd rather do this once vs twice.

    Don't get me wrong. I love some BFGs. However, there are many opinions on this and it is an exact science. There are just many variables that often vary per truck. (caster, true tire diameters, body lifts, spacers, total articulation desired (hardcore or show-fabulous)). You get the idea. The alpine is a cool setup and I think works great for 35s, but the Red Goat Fab leaves more options and flexibility for whatever you want to do down the road and the extra hole isn't a big deal at all. In fact, the Red Goat Fab kit plug the stock hole regardless.
