For those interested in replacing the valve cover gaskets during the install, part numbers are 11213-AD010 & 11214-AD010. Can anyone chime in on the likely hood of needing them?
decent "how to" for removing the valve covers here with some torque specs.

In the grand scheme of things, they're cheap insurance against leaks and having to yank the plenum/supercharger to address.

Even on my relatively low mileage '15, I picked up a pair to replace my OE ones.

I'll be replacing them when I open it up. Like @JustDSM said, relatively cheap to replace while your in there.

    ***PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT***

At this time, I've been made aware (Thanks @DocME) that there might have been an error made during machining that has these gears timed to stock valve timing. I'm currently looking into the situation to see if it's a single set, or if there are a larger number of gears affected. At this time please do not install your gears. I'm going to address the the situation with the manufacturer and get any affected gears corrected.

It's possible, that I will need all affected gears returned. Please stay tuned here for the latest news. I'll be sending PM's to everyone as I have a better handle on the issue.

I can assure all parties that you will get what you originally bought into, but please bear with me while I correct this. My deepest and most sincere apologies for folks who've been waiting on these.

"Mass PM" send to all those with gears shipped.

To those in round 2, this should be a non-issue. Production has yet to start and corrections to procedure will be in place prior to the manufacturing those gears.

I could be wrong but if you put them back to back, they align up with each other (indicated 0° retard) If they were 3° retard, this would make them 6° off on the teeth with the keys lined up. Very simple check for everyone to try. I thought that was odd several days ago when I looked them over.

I put mine back to back with a URD one that I have & they seem to be a little off. Not for sure though cause they don’t seem to stay together like they do when I put the URD ones back to back. I’m at work now & will try looking at it closer. This morning I was rushing myself.

If they are ISO 9001 Certified, and it's current, as the contracted customer you should write them a CAR/SCAR. That will get their attention quick like. If they comply, as they should, you will get Root Cause and Corrective Action as part of the response.

Hey Broski, can you send me a picture of the URD one from directly above? I want to superimpose an angle on them. I really don't want to pull mine to do this.

I think anyone with 80K and over should be replacing them without question. Mine have near 110K on them and are not leaking but when I pull mine to do these I will definitely be doing them because the last thing I want to do is double work just because I end up getting leaks shortly after. If there is one thing I could never stand it is oil leaks.

Yes, they are the worst! Surprisingly, my 1grfe's have never leaked. I always buy oem seals where ever possible.
