I did that for a few years with a good friend. He’d pull the house and I’d pull the sleds or atv’s. Park somewhere, drink all night with the weird locals and then go for a good ride the next morning and regret your life choices.

Frying Pan looks promising. Any spots to post up for a night or two?

If you drive like your going to Aspen Yacht Club & keep going - you'll get to Chapman Campground.
Site 64 is a real CO Gem. Good Luck getting it - its booked on the 1st day for the entire summer. I was lucky to get a few days this summer. Its on the stream going through the campground. Be careful if you got kids its literally on the stream. Also, I saw a 12 pointer last summer passing through one of the empty sites.

    @ Vallecito

You want go to the day area & pay the fee. It's super nice. The Pine River Irrigation District & do pay cause they will put the empty envelope on your truck if you don't pay beforehand. It's $10 bucks a day & worth $20 if you go 2 days in a row, $30 for the entire year if you get it from the website. Also, Vallecito is 8000 ft so its not snowy in June.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
I haven't spent much time in Colorado, but last summer the wife and I found a nice little spot to camp on the 564rd in the San Juan NF. We were hoping to do Black Bear Pass, but due to the amount of snow you guys had last year it wasn't open in mid-July when we were there. Even though we had to change our plans we had a fantastic time in Colorado and are starting to plan a longer trip there in a year or two. Plus camping at over 10,000' gave us a very welcome relief from the +90° heat of Arizona and New Mexico.

I forgot, I found this arrowhead in the hard mud @ twin lakes. Probably just a rock that resembles one, but I was piss drunk & kept it. My wife was laughing cause I swore it was an arrowhead. Then I woke up & I was like yea maybe not.
