Yea, just make your rig more capable to get to even more remote places :D
Maybe if you could just piss off the other visitors... or maybe some of the locals will start leaving...

Ugh... I know. The unemployment doesn't help either, cuz this is an "inexpensive" way to "get outdoors". I've seen people driving their god damn honda civics up some of these roads. Maybe I'm not going remote enough haha!

IDK. I just don't know. Stupid people. The more people there are in the world, the more stupid people there are. And the more accessible this whole overlanding/ORV camping stuff becomes, the more they'll flock to it.

I remember seeing posts about people going off on the Alpine tundras earlier this summer. Is this them? They made a video about it? https://youtu.be/hG17vZ3KcGE

I'm seeing this a lot in my area in Reno, NV as well. We have tons and tons of open land that's free to wheel, camp, and explore on. Ever since the wuhan, anything that's decently easy access is just swarmed with people. I can't say I blame them, as getting outside is one of the only things you can really do for recreation.

There's an area that I like to hike down in South Reno. When I first discovered it, you might find a couple cars near the trailhead. There was even a parking lot, but it almost never had anyone utilizing it.

Hiked it a couple months ago on just a random idle Wednesday, and the parking lot was full, trailhead parking was full, and cars were lining up the road.

We took off on the "hard" route, and still saw literal groups of people on the trail. I couldn't believe it. I used to hike up and camp on the weekends and never see another soul.

It's technically a road. I've ran some of my jeeps up there in the past, but it's not an easy road to travel. 33's and a locker were pretty much required. I'd be afraid to even try it now as there'd be hoards of people screaming at me to get my damn car off the trail...

So, yeah, it's happening all over.

Guy deleted his video, possibly the entire channel, after enough of us gave him shit for being a douche. The Forest Service reached out to me for more details after I sent them the link, but apparently he'd already made it private or deleted it by that time.

If you're reading this, fella... stay in Texas unless you can learn how to treat our state.

I lived in the Springs for years, over a decade ago. Spent a lot of time up in the Rampart Range area. Things have changed so much in just the last few years! I'm definitely concerned that this type of plan is coming to SW Colorado sooner than later.

I will say it is so funny when i do get out to see all the social media selfies people take. the other day they were on the side of the road taking pictures of a weed that looks like a daisy but just trash.

Yeah, I am seeing lots of stories about Tele-Commuters from CA taking over mountain/ ski towns across the West as well as Cabo San Lucas area.

My business partner recently talked with a tech-company employee that was moving to Durango due to permanent remote-work status. Partner asked him how he was going to afford it, as real estate here is now insane... the guy laughed and said he could buy whatever he wanted, because he received a $4000/month housing stipend from his employer *beyond* his salary.

Which lends to more map time and true exploring feeling. Even getting a little off the beaten path makes a huge difference.

Any recommendations for finding off the beaten path trails? I've found one road by just exploring but I was nervous it would degrade a bit into gnarly rocks.
The first time I went to rainbow falls was exploration in my little jetta years ago, then I found out it was in the fun treks book so it must be pretty well known. I guess this would need a better understanding of gaia gps or ioverlander or one of the many other map apps. Maybe I need to start using the MVUM
