Lol I'll repost it here -

Going this Wednesday to Prewitt Ridge, which is about an hour south of Old Coast Rd.

For a nice, fun, scenic drive, check out Nacimiento-Fergusson, which will take you down to a couple of other roads and camp sites along the way.

Prewitt Ridge is an area where you can do some dispersed camping and have an amazing view all in one.

Only downfall is, due to the current fire level, campfires are a no go in all but established/paid for camp sites with a camp host on site.

There is absolutely no dispersed camping along Old Coast Rd. It is mostly (all?) private property with one trailhead for hiking access into Los Padres National Forest, which I’ve heard anecdotally can be blocked by ranchers. As @Kwikvette notes, the place to camp is off the Coast Ridge Rd (Prewitt, etc). No fires except in established campground fire pits, and a Cal campfire permit is required even for stoves.

Same with Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd; absolutely no dispersed camping along the road.

You can camp near other roads, but need a minimum of 300' from the road.
