    Hey guys

When I was younger, I used to dream about traveling across the country in a motorcycle
I had a big birthday and decided that I was going to do the trip with what I have and make what I could to minimize cost.

This is what I started with, a base model regular cab
    20200726_172357.jpg

I purchased two toppers and made one out of the two then painted it.
I lifted the truck, regear it by replacing the third member, got bigger wheels n tires, replaced the radio, added light bar behind bumper, added extra power outlet inside, added power converter to be able to charge jump box (which was used to charge electronics)
I added cruise control, replaced the wiper switch to an intermittent one (highly recommend it)
I then build a sleeping platform, a storage cabinet and finally a cooking counter.

After several months of working on it

Here it's right before leaving on my trip

I have been uploading videos showing how I went about "building" my truck.
I might be the one who has uploaded more videos on a RC Tacoma

 For some reason I just thought of the movie "Dumb & Dumber".

OP, great story and I hope you have a great trip!

I had similar dreams about touring the country on a bike when I was younger. Never happened, though I have logged quite a few miles over the years.
When I was even younger, I had thoughts about travelling the country on a go kart. Kids....

I had just saw then bike on CL then read OPs story. It cost me about $1250 in fuel from NY to Utah. I am out of work and would love to just take off again.

I guess i meant, are you just going east to west? Or is there a route your taking to hit national parks?

The route was East to West
I wanted to see the big trees and some of the major parks,
I found out that there is just too many places to visit to be able to see everything in one trip.
But I am happy about everything I got to see and experience :)

    That is very nice
I really wish I had a little more headroom in my topper,
Looks like your topper has a few extra inches, that should make a big difference.
