Finally finished up my Coastal Offroad High Clearance bumper over the holiday weekend. My pods are unfortunately a bit too bright for road use, but work great for illuminating a trail.

Anyone running the skids kit how does the transfer case skid hold up to use? Looking at most other transfer skids they seem to all have mounts that go out to the frame at the very rear. Does the Coastal transfer skid only bolt to the trans crossmember with 4 bolts? That seems like a lot of torque on those 4 bolts if pressure is at the rear of that skid.

Looks that way. It's also bolts in the front at the merger between the front skid and the rear. It's a two piece setup. The mid and T'Case skid is one piece.

Not my pic, I'll be running these in the future.

Okay I didnt notice that it was one skid between mid/transfer. I completely overlooked that so I get where the rigidity comes from then. I thought it was just a transfer skid and those 4 bolts were the only thing holding it in place. Good find good find!

Anyone currently running the skids notice any flex in the area behind that mid/transfer mount point? I really like the idea of a weld it yourself kit to save money but dont want to risk clamping down on the Y pipe and transfer case if it were to bend at that rear mount point.

I'd think with the reinforcements, bending is next to nothing.

got the rear bumper kit with dual swingout yesterday from coastal. already got started, excited to get some armor on the rear.
did anyone else who did the rear bumper get 4 shackle reinforcement brackets ? the manual only shows 2 and only makes reference to 2. and i definitely have 4.20201010_183914.jpg 20201010_125952.jpg

Yes we used them on each side of the one that comes through the bumper. We also used another reciever hitch and added extra gussets and boxed it in afterwards.
