It started upside down, but I just twisted it in the ring to orientate it properly, then tightened. It does show automatically, but you can just "x" it out by touching the bottom of the screen.

The Plastic JB weld sets up really quick, so be careful, and don't "over glob" it LOL

Cleaned up my USB wire. Enlarged one of the bolt holes and went through that. Put in a grommet to hold the wire.

    Audio # who knows:

Taking out the tweeters that came with the Morel Tempo Ultra 692 set and replacing them with Morel CCWR254 2-1/2 drivers. These are good from 300hz to 19000hz. They'll be running off the existing crossover (set at 2800hz). Just trying something different.....

And now I'm thinking of moving the tweeters to the sail panels, putting the 2-1/2" drivers in the dash, and running a 3-way active front stage set up. Gaaaaaaaaah

You have a power plate? How old is that thing? It's a classic!

I don't know what I am doing yet other than swapping out the tweeters for the drivers for now. I'd like tom a 3-way active system, but I'm going to need another 4 channel amp and a DSP. As well as the sail panels. That's going to drive up costs....

Today I swapped out the tweeters that came with the 692 kit to the CCWR254 kit. Thing I will say is they are not aesthetically pleasing but they sound fantastic. There's definitely a difference in the sound and perhaps a person that liked a lot of high-end would add tweeters to it as well. feel as though I'm going to have to drive with these for a week or two to decide how much further I go.

I had the same amp in my 1993 S10!

So after evaluating what I have done with the sound in my truck, I think I'm going to do the following:

    1. Remove rear speakers
    2. add tweeters to sail panels
    3. swap amp to a 8 channel DSP class D amp
    4. go completely active in the front
These are long term goals of course, I'm going to have to save up for the amp.

So I've re-evaluated after some real analysis and have come to the following conclusions:

    1. The amp in my truck is fantastic, and I don't want to change it.
    2. A DSP is a learning curve I'm not sure I want to go through, however, I also understand that I'll never get the sound I want
    3. I really don't feel like chasing the 10% that I find to be lacking because I think I'll just be throwing money to throw it at that point.
    4. I'd like to find a flexible solution to adding the tweeters back without going active.
Perhaps I just don't know what I am looking for as an end goal.....

On a side note, I was cruising through FB and saw an add on the Sound Quality Classifieds page with 2 sets of Kove KXS32s 3.5" coaxials.

I bought both sets (because why not, they were dirt cheap with great specs). Gonna stuff them in the dash.

Yes. Others have put the Illusion Audio C3CX 3-1/2" speakers in there.

This is a temporary solution. I'm going to get some sail panels done for my Morel tweeters, and have a set of these coming in tomorrow https://www.cdtaudio.com/sep_components/crossovers/mx1000sx.php. I'm going to run a 3 way passive set up using the Morel CCWR254s as a mid on the dash. Well, I think I'm going to do that anyway. I'll find out after I put the Koves in. If I like the sound of them, I may just run those bi-amped off that crossover....

I don't know WTF I want at this point honestly.

Just to circle back, I did a test fit on the driver's side, with hook up and:

    1. The hole needs to be enlarged
    2. these definitely need to be bi-amped, and I will wait until the crossovers come in and I can run the wires.

Circling back again. The rubber bumpers come off allowing the magnet to fit. However, the bass blocker blocks more than the bass.

So now I'm totally up in the air with what I am going to do with my dash.

Today I added the CDT crossovers. I set them up in 2-way mode, utilizing the mid-tweeter output, shutting off the tweeter output.

    IMG_20190824_113105.jpg

I set the crossover like this:

    HDR1 - (woofer) Medium
HDR2 - (mid) setting second from highest
    HDR3 - (tweeter) lowest setting
    HDR4 - Low
    HDR5 - 2nd order

The Morel CCWR264s have life! Holy crap. We compared the morel crossovers to the CDT and there is really a HUGE difference in the front stage. Much more crisp and full while staying warm.

I'm going to roll like this for a while before deciding whether or not to go forward with the coaxials on the dash or tweeters in the sail panels.
