Hey guys. Iv noticed as of late that when i let off the gas and coast usually downhill or whatever i feel a grumbling slight vibration but if i hit the gas it goes away. I greased the drive shaft last month and nice clean grease came out and felt 0 movement in it.
Im over due for tire rotation so maybe that would be causing it?

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

axle wrap due to engine braking. My truck does the same.

Your pinion gets pulled down due to the engine braking and creates "bad" driveline angles. As soon as you get back on the gas your pinion moves back up and puts the pinion in an angle that doesnt have the harmonic.

Thank You! I have same problem. Bought my truck used 5000 miles from dealership in 2015. After first oil change, this started. Every time I go back I mention it (noise) they look at it and say it's nothing. I told them of course cause it's only when you are driving. Asked again about it and they said it was probably the leaf the was in my cabin air filter. Boy, was I pissed I am not a stupid woman, but stupid enough to get charged 70 to replace it. (Next time do it myself thanks to Utube). So I have never mentioned it since. It has gotten louder. Thank you ever so much. I am going to tell them to look into what you mentioned. I hope this fixes it. It drives me nuts!! The noise comes on right at 30mpg. I drive around in a lot of residential areas. I hear this vibration all day. Ruins my Tacoma ❤️
