    Hi all,

My 2005 Taco Pre-Runner V6 (approx. 270K miles) engine light came on with code P0302.

I have done the following but the engine light comes on and off every other day:

    1. swapped cylinder 2 ignition coil with cylinder 1 -> still got code
    2. replaced spark plug -> still got code

I finally put in High Mileage Techron Fuel System Cleaner for 2 tanks now and the engine light comes on and off every other day.

At this time, I think that I need to replace the fuel injectors.

Question is do y'all recommend using aftermarket injectors or Toyota OEM injectors 23209-39015?

Aftermarket is around $49 each as to Toyota $175 each.

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Swap injectors first.

ideally you get an injector oring set for the rail.

Does it run rough? First start of the day?

I’m going to guess spark plug tube gaskets.

yes it start rough at times not necessarily first start of the day.
then after about 5-10 seconds it runs smoothly thus causing the engine light to go off and then couple times later starting rough which then triggers the engine back on

Probably a video. Look at the coil tip and if it’s wet with oil, you need a VC job

    Coil looked clean.

How can I test to make sure that the injector is still good?

Someone more knowledgeable than me is going to have to take it from here. You’ll figure it out. Good luck!

I'm having the same issue as you. I get PO306. Cylinder 6 misfire. Rough idle on initial start-up but then smooths out.
    I've changed the plugs,
    ignition coils,
    air filter,
    battery,
PCV valve and both upstream O2 sensors.
My truck ran great for about 50 miles then the CEL came back on with the same code, PO306. I think the best and easiest treatment is changing the Fuel injectors. I'm not convinced a fuel additive will work, but if there are any testimonies about a brand anyone has tried and had success, please let me know. Thanks

This sounds like a headgasket issue, not fuel or spark.

Read up on cold start misfire headgasket failures. A small mist of coolant drains into the cylinder over night and causes the misfire.

Coolant level is good, the reservoir tank is at max level.

there are so many gaskets, is the head gasket the left and right CV? or spark plug tube gaskets?

Also, not only during every day start up, but it does happen throughout the day randomly.

    Thanks
