unffortunetly* i think it was rattling when i was hitting the cat with my hand. and as far as the numbers of the o2 sensors they were changing slowly but reading the same number or at least really close to the same numbers

Yeah but you had it replaced with a universal. Toyota's do not like universal CAT's. And if it is rattling, that means the ceramic is busted up which amounts to having a can full of rocks. You can go the route of another universal if it will help you pass the emissions.

if you do get a new cat make sure you get the old one back.depending on scrap prices you can get up to $30.00 back.just alittle bit to take some of the sting off of having to replace it again

My numbers were moving very slowly and not jumping around very much in Open Loop all day today. Going to replace sensors and see what happens.

My Cat isnt getting overly (glowing) hot and exhaust isnt at an above normal temp plus no rattling in the cat so Im going to see what an O2 sensor change does. Worst case I have an extra stock cat ill throw on and see what happens.

Will keep you updated after I do it.

Has any one experiencing the problem noticed a sulfur smell at the exhaust?

No sulfur but my exhaust smells kind of rich.

Went to swap out the O2 sensor yesterday but the nuts on it were not budging and seem to have been eaten away by rust and such. going to have to put on a new flange I think. Will be trying the Vise grips after a few days of Penetrating oil. Well see what happens.

Haha, I got pulled over a few months ago by TX ST Pooper for not having a front license plate. He walked up to my pass side window asks for insurance and license as soon as he gets to the rear wheel, he turns around and asks me to step out of my vehicle, he said he got a Strong whiff of Marijuana. After playing the 20 questions game i.e. do you smoke, does anyone in your fam smoke, have you ever done drugs, etc etc he ran my license, went through my whole truck, looked under, sniffed around. He gave me a warning, and let me on my way. I never knew what he was talking about, but after a while, i do seem to get the smell of exhaust fumes inside my cab if i idle too long. I don't like it, but i have no money to fix it if i knew what it was. So my truck smokes pot, but not me:D

Get your truck up to operating temp and then spray some PB'laster. That should help

That is very dangerous. You are letting CO into the cab and it's possible you will passout at the wheel due to lack of oxygen.
