IMG_0437.jpg I recently got a Code P1300 on my Tacoma. Followed the FSM diagnostic procedure, for P1300, and found nothing wrong. This problem was intermittent and I was frustrated I couldn’t pinpoint the problem. Going back to when I bought the truck; the previous owner had an aftermarket alarm system installed. I never thought anything about it because it was “disabled.” Come to find out this was causing my truck to shut off intermittently, since it’s intertwined with the ignition system. I uninstalled the aftermarket alarm system, soldered the wires back to factory standards and have been driving my truck on city and dirt roads for more than a week. The code hasn’t been triggered since… hopefully this wasn’t dumb luck. We shall see… Just wanted to share my experience.

Can't tell you how many times I've heard this, and seen it. Glad you had the common sense to remove it.
