Code P420

I can understand what you mean. I guess I am just the old fuddy-duddy who still believes in actually fixing a problem. Yes, you don't have a CEL light coming on anymore, but you are still dealing with a polluting exhaust system. Again, it is your truck, and obviously you will do what you want. I'll leave it at that.

 

Kind of an old thread but just wanted to make sure before I ordered the sensors. But does the one sensor work for both O2 sensors? On the page it says both up stream and down stream.

Like bamatoy said, the rear sensor's ONLY function is to monitor the catalyst system...has nothing to do w/ how the truck runs.

FWIW...my truck tripped a 0420 code because my exhaust manifold was cracked (leaking)

 

That's the thing over the past year my trucks mpgs have gotten really bad.

 

Im pretty sure both sensors are the same...call up a toyota dealership and cross reference the part #s.

And there are a lot of things can can cause poor fuel efficiency...not just o2 sensors.
