Just joined TW a few days ago. I live in the CdA area and we are always up for driving in the mountains.

We had extra snow this year, so it may be July before all the back-country roads are clear.

    Welcome.
I'm planning on coming out that way this summer, maybe do the Lolo Motorway and Magruder Pass. I'd like to find some more technical trails as well, do you have any suggestions for good areas to check out?

Technical trails are not my bag....

You might contact the North Idaho Trail Blazers: http://nitrailblazers.org/?page_id=21

They would know where the more technical stuff is.

There is also a very cool ORV park in the Spokane WA area: https://www.google.com/maps/place/7...bc4e90d006134a!8m2!3d47.739552!4d-117.5438468

Last thing I can think of in this area is the Moyie Mudbog:

Friend of mine just moved out there a year and a half ago, he drives a 90's white corvette and an older Hummer H1 for wheeling. Hoping to visit him this summer if I can swing it, Coeur d' Alene looks beautiful.

I saw an H1 the other day. Don't see too many of them anymore.

My wife and I grew up in this area so we are partial to it. Mountains, Trees, Water, Wildlife....

We love the WA and OR coast too, we vacation there often.

Welcome to TW! I was born and raised around Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint. Amazing area. Still go visit a lot, typically during the winters to ski at Schweitzer and do some snow wheeling.

I was actually just out there for a week around new years:
