    Since it's a Tacoma thread....

Does anyone know of an actual coffee pot that runs <400w ??? Would be nice to plug in the rear outlet.

    ****edit

Most likely not even a 4 cup brewer on Amazon requires 1200w

Rifle Coffee. Better than Starbucks, and they have a focus on hiring American veterans as staff. Look at YouTube for their videos (damn funny) Cool bunch of guys, and best coffee I’ve ever brewed

As a distance hiker I don’t want to carry extra shit and am willing to sacrifice some taste for my caffeine fix and a warm beverage. On the AT I was using Starbucks instant, maxwell house tea bags and just plain coffee grounds in a pot. Usually with honey to sweeten. I also use a primus Ti lite for a stove on a propane butane mix can.

Car camping I would bring my melita pour over that I make coffee with every day at home.

Saw this thread and while I am a fan of the Aero-press with a good grind, I ran into a disposable pour-over in Japan.

I’ll second Black Riffle Coffee! It’s some of the best I’ve had. The Freedom Blend is awesome! I’m not a big fan of Starbucks so it’s my last option!

I use an aeropress. I third black rifle and their freedom blend! Haha

They have some pretty solid reviews on their YouTube that go over some of their preferred compact grinders and presses out there.

I love me some good coffee! We have Green Mountain Coffee here in VT. I usually bring some breakfast blend or Nantucket Blend and my French press. I don’t hike much (bad ankle, tailbone, and hip) but if I’m one a 1 night camp I get the Starbucks instant coffee from work (Costco) it works well and easy storage. We have great coffee here but man I wish I lived in Washington with all the barista stands in every parking lot! Buddy got my wife and I hooked on blended lattes! She hates coffee too and was addicted!! Shit is crack

I do the Starbucks instant coffee too cause I need that shit RIGHT NOW.

It tastes pretty good and is just too easy. I always err toward easy when it comes to camp cooking.

Well, coffee does help you get rid of some extra shit, so, I guess it’s kind of a wash, lol

The thing wih the starbucks, or other crappy coffee, is that our tastes are muddied by the adventures we’re on, and because we’re super hungry/thirsty.

Best meal I ever ate was some tofu fried in olive oil. It was day 6 of an 8 day backpacking trip. So delicious! Made it a few weeks later at home, and it was about as gross as you’d expect, lol. Coffee is the same, it’ll do in a pinch when you’re 100 miles from the nearest coffee shop.
