Do you need to know, or care?
I use a camping stove, works great. 400 watts is not enough to make coffee.

Are you camping on earth? If so you're probably near a Starbucks.

Get an Aeropress and you'll never make camp coffee any other way. It's simple, clean, and makes a world class cup every time.

I drink coffee every day, and if there is no way to get the fresh hot version, I would drink instant mixed with cold water in a heartbeat....

I actually remember the container style from this video  I figure since this stuff was created for combat soldiers in WW2, it would be the perfect compliment to "roughing it" while camping. I guess you are the only one who agrees haha.

As for everyone else... Jeez you guys, I am surprised no one has mentioned a Keurig yet, surely that would be less current draw. Such silverspooners and coffee madonas *scoffs indignantly*.

Coffee crystals are made to order for traveling light.

I don't think we are alone in appreciating their usefulness.

I enjoy coffee, one of my "vices". If I go without it, I start going through withdrawal, and become an "uhhappy camper", lol.

We had instant coffee in mre's and the only thing I liked them with was mixing them with the chocolate shake powder.
