I'll probably do the same, a lot cheaper. Those damn pins are $40 for 4 of them..... and Maxtrax come in pairs so $80 just for mounting :brianr:

Got the trax mounted up top, the relentless bed bar I got from Black Friday showed up so I got the mounted, and I mounted my cargo boxes.

Any concerns with it holding up against weather? Now I'm thinking I could make something like this out of some thin steel to hold recovery gear so it doesn't bounce around in the bed...hmmmm

First I ran silicon on all the gaps and such, then rubbed exterior glue on the end grains, then sprayed primer on it, then I plastered these thing in about ten layers of deck coating, I expect a few years, like I said, if they start falling apart I can pull the brackets off and make something out if metal, and use the same brackets.

How do they secure to the rack? This would be good for me to put chains, straps, jumper cables...all the things I like to have with me but rarely use. I could stick the boxes on top of the shell and then I have a convenient tire to use as a step.

I'd have to come up with something. My cross bars have a tough plastic coating on them

Grab some exhaust clamps, and just bolt the box down with the bolts from the exhaust clamps. @MatthewMay1
