I’m about to buy a bilstein 5100 lift kit and it comes with the HS factory replacement 2” coils. I was talking with a friend about this and he was saying something like you’ll want to get a shop to install this because you’ll have to compress the coils with the Bilsteins or something. So my question is, is this kit something I can just instal myself in the driveway or because of the coils should I get a shop to install this

Have them assemble the struts before they ship them to you. There is an option for that on the page you provided.

This. You’ll just have to purchase the top hat since it’s not in the original kit. They should have that too.

Choose this option and you don't have to worry about it.

select strut assembly option extra $95 pay for convenience. couple times I rented manual compression tool always end up scratching coils and it takes up good half day manual labor

If I'm not mistaken (which I could be) HS provides new top hat and hardware with strut assembly.

Yes, they do, otherwise they wouldn't able a top hat to assemble it with.

pretty sure its include since their required as part of assembly. top hat is around $20 a piece so assembly price is excellent deal

I’ll assume in the charge to assemble it, they include the top hat. In the kit he linked there was no top hat.

Just installed my Eibach kit last weekend and did the no compressor method. Worked like a charm, safe, and saved me money.
