Coil Over Shock Replacement-Gen 3

    Good morning-

    There are two ways to replace the front coil over shock assembly. One requires a tool to compress the coil after removal. There is another way I have seen on a few sites where the spring is decompressed by releasing the weight off the axle. This process is the one I would like to employ.

    Question: Aside from the obvious of not performing the process properly and having the spring discharge accidently, what other issues does the group see with this method? I do not have another vehicle to bring the assembly to a shop nor the time and don't want to use the tool to decompress.

    I've not done it that way myself yet, but that is likely how I would do it if presented with the job.
    The LCA and shock bolt torque specs in the video are incorrect though.
