Anyone have an alternative to spending 54 bucks on a denso coil pack from rock auto? Part # is listed at bottom of pic. For a 2.7 '03

That's a good price as it's the same as the OEM one.

You can probably find a cheaper one that doesn’t work.

I need to be more direct: has anyone used any aftermarket ones that have worked well for less $$

    Its $54.
New Denso— peace of mind is worth that vs buying a chinese cheapo that may or may not last a year. Or look at it this way, you are replacing it yourself vs. a shop charging you $200 or more.

Id just go with it or price match down at the Advance

In one of my other car clubs a member conducted a very through technical review of aftermarket coils compared to OEM. Yes the aftermarket coils worked and the engine would run. The problem came from the aftermarket coils producing a higher and unpredictable level of spark. So while an aftermarket coil fixed an immediate misfire problem, other problems came later from the differences in spark level. Bottom line: Its just not worth the headaches.

might be able to scour salvage yards for one that looks a bit less worn perhaps less mileage :notsure:
if the cost is of a concern and you can get a used one that just swaps over (is that even a good idea, i don't know, just throwing it out there)

Had heard many theories along this line without anyone being able to really verify through testing. Sounds exactly about what you'd expect from a cheapy coil pack. It's actually kind of a shame we even have junk replacement auto parts. Keep spreading the word. I am:cool::D

If there is one thing you should always do is always buy OEM electrical parts for your Tacoma.

Most the aftermarket electrical parts don’t compare to OEM quality.
    It’s your dollar tho
