I understand that you should upgrade your shocks, no doubt... All I was Saying I Ran Spacers with stock coils and Rancho 5000 shocks for a long time.

    Now,
Im running Full OME 882s with Firm shocks. and A custom 12Pack in the Rear. Love the ride. did'nt need to spend $$ for adjustable coil overs especially living on the East Coast! Salt SUX!

Is there any pitfall to using spacers with OME coils and shocks?

As in the toytec OME lift kit:

Yes. The OME springs are a higher spring rate, and when you add spacers to them, you increase that rate much more. This will beat the crap out of ball joints, and shocks. Plus, the ride would be horrible.

It depends...., OME makes a Trim pack that goes under the Spring bucket. gives enough boast to correct the Taco Lean. and then the 10MM top Load Spacer. which does not change the Spring rate, but does Risk tearing up the upper ball joint. Which is why im Saving for UCA!.

Absolutly correct! The OME trim packer can only be used with the OME shocks...

So in short, there's no harm using the trim pack but adding the top spacer can tear up my ball joint? Aftermarket UCA's are immune to this damage? I'm just trying to lay out a lift strategy, and UCA's would probably come a month or two after the lift. I don't wheel much and when I do it's usually just rowdiness in a muddy field or some quick runs down decent dirt/gravel roads...

Of course that may change once I get the proper gear on my truck :D

The aftermarket UCA's use a 1" or larger Uniball wich is MUCh stronger than the OEM balljoints. They also allow for a little more travel..

Correct! But just as a reference, I have the OME coils 882s and the Top Load Spacer, So Far My Joints are fine. There only Tight @ Full Droop and they also Slightly Hit the Coil.

aah, good to know. I'll just take it easy until I can get the UCA's on there. And if I break the stockers, then my hand will just be forced lol

sorry for the threadjack, good info nonetheless
