I bought some Dakars and plan to install them with the 3rd leaf removed in my '05, and will consider removing an overload leaf but want to maintain a decent load carrying capacity. My goal is better than stock suspension without killing my CV's, balljoints, tie rod ends, or handling. I want to lift the front *just enough* so it doesn't look weird, and am not sure which coils I should go with--883 or 884. I do like the look of the factory rake. I plan to run Bilstein 5100's all around, but I have the TRD Off Road coils so I will not be using them for any lift. Any suggestions? I searched and called around, but haven't found any clear answers or threads about matching the front with Dakars that have a leaf (or possibly two) removed. If there is a thread out there that answers my question that I missed please do include a link...Thanks.

I'm not sure how much lift you'll get from Dakars with a leaf removed.
I kept factory rake with full Dakars & 885s on my 4Banger AC.
    885s will give a 4Banger AC 3" lift & a V6 DCLB 2.5"
884s might give you around 2" :notsure:
I would recommend OME shocks to go with your OME springs they are made to go together.

OP , you should get 2 1/4 - 2 3/4" of lift on an AC from the Dakars with a leaf removed .

The ARB / OME spec sheet says removing the third leaf down in the Dakar pack will result in a height reduction of 15mm or approx 5/8"
