Very nice mod, I will try and see how this will work for my S&W Airweight revolver. I may line the inside with some spray-on texture paint or something. I usually keep my gun on the inside door drink holder area when travelling in a mini holster. Maybe this will work out better.

    Good job! :)

Not to get into a pissing contest, but he and the prior post were both making the statement that's been made over and over in the thread.

Can't we all just be friends? :D

I'm thinking this is a more practical solution. For me, I'd be ducking down, reaching across my body to the gun, THEN racking the slide... by that time I'm pretty sure I'd be pistol whipped at best, because the BG will know you're up to something contrary.

I like this mod I have a Ruger LCP which is basically the same gun as the Kel-tec gonna look into doing this mod my self. What I really want is a place to put my G19 while I am driving or even my a place to keep my 1911. I have thought about a holster with a thumb snap in the drivers door map pocket I am a lefty so this would work good for me

What I really really want to build is a lockable storage area under my rear seat for my AR15 or shotgun would make me feel a lot better rather than rifle bags on the back seat

Isn't this highly illegal? at least in CA. I'd be more afraid of the cops and jail time than criminals jacking me.

Not in Texas. The law allows free carry of handguns in vehicles as long as they're out of plain sight as well as concealed carry to and from the vehicle.

Also not in Florida. A hand gun (loaded or unloaded) may be carried in a personal conveyance provided that is either securely encased example a snapped holster or glove compartment OR not readily accessible for immediate use meaning there is a trigger lock on it or the gun and magazine is unloaded and ammo is not in close proximity

In Nevada your auto is considered part of your property, just like your home. You're allowed to carry openly or concealed, loaded or not. Not many states like this in that regard, nor are there many who make you qualify with your cc weapon like they do here.
