Good question. I have a Land Use permit that cost like $20 fro the "family". I am not sure if the Coke Ovens fall under this but I think they might. See link below.

Ahh I see... Well I certainly don't want to drive to Phoenix to get the permit... I may just dick around the north range of the guard base instead.

Coke Ovens is private land, and not legally available to travel on.

It's been a long time since I've been out to the Coke Ovens. You think it's doable in a stock TRD OR 4x4 with no lift?

Highly recommend at least a good IFS skid plate (stock won't cut it). Also, highly recommend sliders. Otherwise, I took my truck 100% stock through there with just the IFS skid (well and front bumper but that just lowered clearance up front lol).

Note, I haven't been to ovens though, but through Box and most of the way (didn't realize that was actually the martinez trail I was on at the time and we turned around cause we needed to get back home)

I think it's very doable, but you might bump bottom a few times and drag a bumper here and there. Drive carefully, you might get lucky ;)
