Now that I am officially a Tacoma owner (bought one this week!). I figured I would post some data on CAI's available. I will do my best so that I can help others here with all that I found. This thread is focused mainly on 05-11 and some 12 4.0L engines and is meant to inform people of brands, styles, Price range, perf, etc. If anyone has any data to help me fill in some blanks I would appreciate it. I do not have a CAI yet so i can not advise others on preference, but other members may be able to chime in and lend a hand.

Out of those listed, only the URD give any real gains. The others dont. Although they claim to give results, I havent seen any data from an owner to back up their claims.

The dyno chart for the AFE isnt even from a 1GR-FE engine.

Is the gen2 trd really that bad? Im currently running the AFE stage 2 (non Si) and am thinking of switching. I mean I know they could throw codes, but what else?

The ones I have seen havent given any codes or CEL's either. However, some folks have had these happen. Only thing Ive been able to find on the newer TRD intake, is it runs a lean condition on the AF ratio.....which.....is what the URD MAF calibrator does (run less fuel/trim the fuel, so as to not run as rich under WOT conditions).

That's weird. I have the stage 2 and you can't even tell it's there. It might sound a little different above 4.5k. Maybe something isn't tightened down?

    This ^^^^^^
unless he measured it, it could have been 14", more or less. And......Ive seen 10" deep puddles that held thousands of gallons of water. Hit that at 45 mph (or watever), and it could choke out an OEM intake.
