Is this silencer "chamber" optional, meaning is it mandatory it stays on, compared to not having it on, Performance wise ???

Good to know. Just another thing I can put on the mod list. My wife loves how this list grows about every 2 days.

Thanks Bud, Interesting seeing that the TACO has basically the same design with the exception of the large Blue Air filter, with the small port on the lower portion of the housing ....

Those things aren't just for noise reduction.
Properly designed, they actually improve airflow as well.

I bought an AFE intake for the 2016 Tacoma - AFEs site had it listed as available July 15th, now they say "still in development" in the payment email. <sigh> ...guess its a wait and see. On the positive side, they took my money within 10 mins of ordering! o_O

An air stifling CAI with an accordion type connecter to the throttle body that further skews free flowing air....so yeah!

Like putting a bag over your head, poking holes in it and saying you breath just as well with it on.

I guess simple science and the logistics of air flow perfected by racing enthusiasts around the world for decades gets trumped by Spongebob and IQ challenged plaid shirted dudes. What the hell do I know, I just grew up in a family that worked for Ford racing - hillbillys, all of 'dem - Ye-haw!

Why doesn't someone cough up the $500 for a couple dyno pulls and take their CAI equipped Tacomas to a dyno facility to see what they get for hp / tq #'s are

Dyno pulls don't cost $500. When I've run my car in the past its around $50-100
