Why would you need a day to test a CAI? It's not like we have tunable ECMs

As far as whether it added hp/tq gains I couldnt tell you for sure. What I do know is that I put an AFE stage 2 pro dry on my 2013 a year ago...it does give a huge roar, and the throttle response was definitely noticeable. I just took it off over the weekend and I can tell you from my experience going back to the stock intake I have lost a good bit of throttle response. I am currently waiting on a drop in AFE pro dry filter to be delivered so that I can see how that compares to the full deal CAI. For the sake of all the arguments and opinions of gains or not, once I get the drop in filter I think I am going to find a shop with a dyno and have it ran with and without the CAI.

How are y'all even finding this thing (afe)? My google searches show nothing for the 2016. I even went to AFE' site and under 2016 Toyota, Tacoma' not even a choice.

Thanks y'all. So what's with the opening on the front of the air box? I've got some serious water/slush through my grill into my engine compartment, that would not play well with that hole. Does anyone know if it can be capped?

I think just the pure cost of these intakes doesn't justify the hp gain. 300 or more dollars for 5-15 hp that you won't feel isn't worth it IMHO. When I had my diesel, 300 bucks would bump my motor 150+ hp with a simple programmer/tune. These motors aren't made for performance. I just chose my 2.7 for the bullet proof reliability no fuss.

I'm assuming you forgot the word Turbo in front of diesel? Also, where did you find a tuner for less then $300, was it used? Curious minds want to know.

I agree this price on a CAI is a tad high, however its a new vehicle and a new product. Give it a year and they can probably be had for under $300.

A product that doesn't do much in my opinion. And I'm assuming you're new to diesels. Tuners can be found for 300. Go to any popular diesel dealer(xdp, sinister, thorougbred, etc.) I used an SCT x4 tuner.

    Stock and loving it
I wasn't saying that to you. Someone else said it looked just like the resonator on the stock unit. I may have quoted the wrong person
that scoop makes it a Warm Air Intake because it sits behind the radiator.

Find me a tuner for a 2016 tacoma 3.5 and I'll buy it. Until then, CAI's are the only upgrades we have available.

It will never happen. But I was talking about diesels to the other guy. CAI on these trucks just make noise and allow more dirt into the motor/raises silica on oil analysis.
