sadly, I didn't even notice. I always put CAI's on my trucks so my
only thought was it was here! :D

I keep thinking about trading it in though for the Pro so who knows, I've
already put 4k+ into this one. o_O

why would they compare hp and tq at different engine RPMs? How are we supposed to interpret that?

I think that was a mistake on their part, they probably meant to drag the tq result to the same rpm, but that doesn't matter. just look at the lines and you can interpret the difference.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and pre order it today.
This seems more affordable than the AFE and i dont Air Raid has released a price.

If you look at the graph, the points for HP from stock to K&N are not at the same RPM. The K&N RPM is higher....

On the full size image you can see a small line on each dot that shows its at the same rpm point.
I think you just saw that the dots are not on top of each other and asummed their at different rpm's.

What happens between 3500 and 4000rpms on this engine?

And those are huge gains for cai! Never would have believed it. Would kinda still like to see a 3rd party dyno test.

I just created a thread about that. This is not the first time I've seen a dip on a dyno like that for the 3rd gen

Well hopefully the k&n will have the loudest induction noise.

I'm all for it, already have the bro lean going on, might as well have the noise to go with it. :woot:

something to do with the atkinson cycle system or vvt i would assume. thats a quite a loss of torque in the curve.

If you want even more gains using CAI ,cover the intake tube with a heat reflective sleeve . These sleeves reflect up to 90% allowing for a colder /denser intake charge

My best friend races dirt track and has found that on a Sprint car and using a K&N stack injection air box with a filter sock . When the filter is dry "non oiled " lap times were a 1/2 faster . With it oiled lap times fell off significantly and the motor felt like the injector pump had a larger pill creating a fat condition

With the filter dry and using a K&N filter sock even on a dry slick track there was no evidence of dust/dirt inside the filter box

Does it really come with 17 horses?

You know...you'll have to feed them, clean up all the horse shit etc. Zoning might be a problem too unless your neighborhood is zoned agricultural.

    I just use this instead:

[IMG] The only question I have is: Which is more power, 17 horses or 20 mules? :notsure:
