Unless you are doing it for cosmetic reasons, it is a waste of your money. Cold air intakes, high flow filters, etc., even if dyno proven to make power gains, only make them above 3500-4000 rpm to the red line. So, if you plan on doing a lot of drag racing, then fine. If you are like the rest of us who rarely find the need for that much rpm, stock is probably the better route.
The only things that will give you noticeable and usable, everyday, streetable, power are gears and/or forced induction.

    Are on the way!
Best thing to do if you're running the stock intake, rip out the charcoal filter in the box lid!! No power gain, just no reason other than those tree hugging EPA adding smog control where it isn't t needed..

So rip out the charcoal filter with no benefit at all, but to stick it to the tree huggin EPA?

Honestly, I don't even know what to say...

The stock intake on my old TRD supercharged 2013 was restrictive. I installed an AFE intake and there was a noticeable increase in power. Boost went up about a pound or so. Picked up about a tenth in the 1/4 too. As soon as AFE comes out with a cold air intake for the 3rd gen I'm on it! I'm gonna baseline my all stock 2016 at the dragstrip tomorrow.

    Because of boost capacity.

Is you '16 boosted? No? Then it won't matter.

Unless subsequent runs after any mods are in the exact same conditions, including driver performance, you don't have any real data. It's one reason they make chassis dynos. You have to have a controlled set of conditions to know what differences have occurred.

Whatever Mr. know it all! Every vehicle i've owned gained performance from an intake.

Seems they made the sport hood to accept a cold air intake.. TRD maybe has one in the works that will fit with a supercharger??? I'll wait and see......
