I did it and the pro exhaust! Together they sound awesome for what it is. If I need a v8 thrill I will get my mustang out and drive it.

I also have the same. Perfect combo, nice sound, no drone when cruising.
I did have the ARE and scoop CAI. Was loud when getting on it. Took it off.

The thought would actually be 'Thinking about replacing my factory CAI'.

    Since you already have one.

I did the same and installed the TRD Cat Back exhaust and love the sound coupled with TRD CAI.

Only useless if you already knew the truck came with a CAI.

    Many don't.

Yes the stock intake is basically a CAI, but part of the function of the after market intake or at least the good ones is to increase the volume of air allowed into the throttle body especially under hard scceleration. The more air, the more oxygen and the more efficient the combustion process.

    Wrong.

HERE is what totally useless input looks like.

OP, you need one of these instead of a CAI.

    So there. Someone top it.

Is there ANY difference between the TRD intake the the factory one besides a drop in filter and it saying TRD on the lid?

Smaller resonator chamber, slightly larger intake horn going into the fender, straighter pipe from filter box to intake manifold. That is pretty much it. And it doesn't really matter that much because the A/F mixture is regulated by the computer anyway. I have one mainly because it looks cool and completes the package.

About $400, deleted intake resonator, different nozzle from airbox into fender well.
    And NOISE.

The Stock intake already can supply more air than the engine can use.
