AFE, S&B, Injen have the best aftermarket CAI for our trucks. Some will be louder than others at full throttle.

Any open-air filter with shielding like K&N will be very loud, will allow normal heated engine compartment air to be sucked in the engine making less power.

Depends what youre interested in? If its cost/performance - just do a drop in filter and call it a day, but if you want da bling bling then pick the one that tickles your fancy, as they all will yield similar results.

Each one works different depending on the ambient temperature and barometric pressure. I would advise to buy 4 different ones and build an isolator manifold. Turn a knob to open up the one you need for the season.

By the way, the stock set up is best left alone unless you just like throwing money away.

And it’s seals pretty tight on the hood, sucking up air from the factory hole in the fender. Maybe not as tight as factory. But not exactly sucking up hot engine air.

But yes I agree it’s just noise and no real difference. I always choose K&N because of the reuse able filter.

I've heard these give great results. Let us know if you go ahead with the install.

100 horsepower gained. Don't listen to these guys saying it only makes noise. Nonsense. I had it professionally dyno tuned by my butt.

CAI are for people who don't know anything about cars but still want to feel like they've "modded" their truck.

The best Cold air intake is the one that uses hot air to compress the cold air. Then force feeds it into the engine.

They say all dynos are going to register slightly different numbers. My butt dyno only came back with 85 hp.

That's cause you got a small butt. My ass is huge more sq ft coverage for measuring HP.
