I wouldn't complain , a 489BBC making 750hp and only losing minimal hp is nothing

I just re checked, no dyno + Video on our truck, only 1 or the other. But Shawn at Rouge Offroad in Las Vegas tested a few different CAI's and noticed small gains from each one. I asked him a few times to repost the Dyno results but he says its not worth the trouble because people will even question the dyno results themselves and claim they were altered lol . Hence why I am aiming to do a video + Dyno so people can see what I ddid and how we did it.

UPDATE ON DYNO: Had to move my appointment from 04/28 to the weekend of 05/05. Apparently my wife made plans up in Nor Cal this weekend so I will be out of town and unable to do the test. If anyone else wants to join in on the fun or even come watch/film the event you're more than welcome. The shop is in Huntington Beach. They are charging me $90 for 3 pulls so I am paying $180 to do 6 pulls total. I have the OV Tune so I predict if my Dyno test yields gains from the CAI, some may say its more to do with the tune VS just the intake. So if anyone has stock Taco and willing to pay/play around with this intake and Dyno hit me up.

you may make gains, but they will be almost nothing and not worth the price of the CAI and the Dyno tests combined, if spending all that dough to prove a CAI will produce an extra 1-5 hp its a free country but youll never feel that minimum amount of gain if you gain at all.

true, but it proves that's whether turbo or non a CAI will do next to nothing for added performance

Whatever you do, don't use a K&N tube, a Volant filter box & an aFe dryflow filter..........You'll just end up with washable non-oiled filter enclosed in a box breathing through the fender well with less clutter under the hood and the accompanying extra noise.

On my 02 DC with a 2.7 4cyl I'm running a supercharger , Doug's Headers Tri Y shorty header , reworked ported cyl head and Supra "Pink" injectors

Oh and yes I'm running a K&N FIPK and with all those mods , yes I'm making much more hp than stock

Considering the how much we all paid for these trucks, I would say IMO at least, that the cost of a CAI and the Dyno runs = peanuts as far as $$ goes lol

Here's a thought why not take a K&N FIPK or CAI and a stock air box set up from a newer Tacoma and have them Flow Bench tested to see which one flows the most CFM !!

I dislike the stupid oiled cone filter and CAI idea as much as the next person, but Scotty Kilmer is a borderline mental case. He is severally xenophobic about new technology in cars and has an almost nonfunctional understanding about how a modern EFI system works. If I needed information about whitewalls and drum brakes I might ask him a question (still not taking him too seriously) but for anything past 1982 his "knowledge" is useless.
