While I do not think aftermarket filters offer any benefit to modern vehicles I do believe your assessment is incorrect. The Mass Air Meter is there to measure air flow and the ECU has the ability to adjust for all sorts of temperatures, altitudes, and air flow, it is not a Mechanical Fuel Injection System from the 1950s.

Where were the fancy engineers that did the non-improvable intakes when it came time for frames/leafs/spiral cables/gas pedals/suspension/throw out bearings/ etc that everyone has trouble with or replaces without any "manufacturer knows best" rhetoric? They could have come in real handy. Shouldn't have given them vacation until the whole truck was done. Then there would be no need to attempt to do anything other than oem to them. Only intakes and filters......yeah, OK.

I agree with this and yes I monitor my oil and my oci is based upon the analysis recommendation. In the end today's oils are good at what they do and I don't favor brands.

    Was that an actual answer?
I mean come on..... they didnt even put the filter in the cabin air filter slot in 2005, they also fudged the dyno calibrations in 2005..... they have used crap leaf packs for atleast 15 yrs, they "passed" and had their name branded on an afe intake years ago that was illegal, they passed a faulty k&n intake with the trd name on it again, they had the whole 3rd gen dying on inclines if it rolled back, they cant tq their u bolts they had wrong tq spec in the fsm on 2nd gens, they sent 2nd and 3rd gens out with low transmission fluid, the rugged fail tires were shot in 20k miles due to seperation, rotting, or wear.....

You really trust them not to skimp here and there?

Misinformation is a dangerous thing. 20K sold a month. Very few have any issues. Those who do post on TW....

I don’t think he’s using it, but that he wouldn’t hesitate to use it.

He's saying that if TW treated intakes like they do suspensions this wouldn't be so hotly debated. Nobody jumps on anyone for wanting a smoother ride, but god forbid you want a little extra air.
