Ask the Dyno operator if he has the capability of reading Density Altitude or corrected elevation

As I mentioned awhile back in this thread DA can can skew dyno #'s

It's not my money, but it would be really interesting to try this on the stock tune vs OVtune as well.

How many pulls are you doing?

I thought it would be interesting to see if the combination of aftermarket CAI + OVtune would make any better results than stock intake + OVtune. Probably not, as IIRC Mat did his dyno pulls on stock intake/filter (so it's not tuned to take advantage of "better" airflow).

Anyway, will watch the results regardless.

    Cool, good luck man.

No more bench racing for anybody after this... either way.

Until the next guy decides to start a thread... :)

Yes that humidity change only being 5% difference and 5° temp change can drastically change the DA or Corrected Elevation

You would see 500' to 1k ft change in DA

In a day and age where people actually believe the earth is flat, I am sure no matter the results some will just refuse to believe lol

What is DA again? How much estimated HP/TQ difference will that difference? Maybe I should run the stock intake first when conditions are better, then run the CAI afterwards to avoid the whole argument of ....
( Of course you saw gains because you ran the CAI when colder and less humidity, then ran the stock intake in hotter more humid conditions )

DA is Density Altitude and is the actual corrected elev for the air at a given moment

Now that chart you linked with the weather info , here's the DA "density altitude " or corrected elevation

The highlighted readings with the DA figured in and using Huntington Beach elev which is 39'

    The first highlighted reading
    67° / 52° dew point / 60% humidity / 30.0 in hg barometer the DA "corrected elev " ......649'

2nd highlighted reading 69°/52° dew point /60% humidity / 30.0 in hg barometer the DA or Corrected elev ......778'

The 3rd or final highlighted readings 72° /52° dew point /50% humidity / 29.99 in hg barometer the DA or " corrected elev" .....981'

So reading #1 is elev changed 649 '

    Reading #2 elev changed 739'

    Reading #3 elev changed 942'
