Find a real tuning shop with an inertial Dynojet chassis dyno--hub size and O.A.L. considerations go away....

Restricting efficiency would negatively effect mpg and emissions....

no he's still blathering on about the EPA and OV tunes taking over the car/truck world and restricting vehicles true performance capabilities for Enviromental reasons

You and I are actually on the same page except that robbing performance is a compromise, not their intent. Toyota met their mpg goals and quit tuning for drivability.

I have the tune as well. And the AFE intake. And after URD sends the right mid pipe, I’ll have the Spec-U exhaust on.

This AT transmission does suck. 4-5-6 gear spacing makes no sense to me. 5th should be closer to 4th, and a 4.30 axle ratio should be an option.

Nope, if you go back a few pages you can see my post about them not having the right size hub adapter, then the other type of dynos were saying my wheel base is too long to fit lol. Im not defeated yet, just lost a little momentum from being so busy lol I haven not forgot about this

I think a 4:30 on the AT would mask the poorly placed 5th gear better.

You really need to go to Westech Performance in Jurupa Calif , The place where Steve Bru'le , David Frieburger and Steve Dulcich do those YouTube Mythbusting Dyno pulls

I know these guys pretty well and they would do a Toyota / K&N Dyno session

If you read post #592 you'll see that the OP has been very busy with his business he runs /owns and no time to look for a dyno facility that can perform what he needs done !!!

Hard to imagine one of the most heavily populated, heavily into street racing, heavily into damn near everything, places not having a dyno that can accomodate a truck smaller than an El Camino.

A Tacoma has a much longer wheelbase than let's say a 1970 Chevy El Camino SS !!

70 LS6 Chevy El Camino SS has a wheelbase of 116"

2017 Toyota Tacoma has a wheelbase of 127" to 140" depending on model

70 El Camino is 74.5" width

    2017 Tacoma has a 74.4 to 75.2 width

A whole 11/16", I beg your pardon but still easily exceeded with even minimal tire/wheel upgrades which would preceed said dyno. Point being that it just seems odd that in all of SoCal he can't find what he needs given they probably dyno'd El Caminos with dualies or streched Hummers for that matter.

its the length the shops are having issues with. That West tech place looks legit, Ill give them a call tomorrow. I've got a lot planned now through July so august is looking promising time wise.

This is a common response I get from local shops.

You'll like West tech perf , I've had my Camaro on their dyno a few times and Steve Bru'le knows how to find more hp than you expected !!

I hope hes open weekends, thats another problem I have run into. I work in mortgage so taking time off ( especially now with these rates) is pretty difficult if not impossible lol
