You still have this data? Controlled testing show no gain from intake.

Fuel is controlled by MAF/O2 sensor feedback, changing the intake doesn't effect this. Any Ram effect is nullified by a throttle plate that is almost closed cruising down the road. But the EFI controls will adjust the throttle plate to adjust for a slight intake pressure if indeed there is any.

The engine control systems were able to maintain the desired AFR regardless of intake restrictions, and therefore fuel consumption was not increased.

Closed-loop control in modern fuel injected vehicle applications is sophisticated enough to keep a clogged air filter from affecting the vehicle fuel economy.

Ultimate this is saying a restricted intake doesn't effect MPG and a unrestricted intake doesn't either.

My data was writing down the ultra gauge average mpg number every week. Before the snorkel I averaged 19mpg and then after a few weeks with the snorkel I averaged 20.5 mpg. I was surprised. There was a slight drop in intake temp as well but I don't recall those numbers off the top of my head. I still had this gain 2 months or so after the install, so it's not like it was only for a few days. I don't know why and I haven't dug into my old thermo textbooks to try and figure out why.

Im looking to buy a CAI simply for the increased air filtration a large cone filter offers, plus it kind of un-corks the motor once you start doing exhaust modifications. You can't just buy a CAI expecting noticeable amounts of hp and torque gain. It is only one piece to the puzzle. (**begin sarcasm**) But everybody knows the louder your motor the more hp you have... duhhhh just straight pipe and get a CAI... at least +30hp to the wheels***:smash:
