Hi everyone. Getting back in a 21 model this week. I’m new so I apologize up front if I missed some threads. I did a search but couldn’t find what I needed. I’m thinking about doing a cold air kit. On some other vehicles I have, something like this requires a tune. Since I’m new to the new Tacoma game, just wanted to see who has done it, if it requires a tune and if you have had any issues. Thanks!

The factory set up is already a CAI. There is really nothing to be gained other than appearance and intake noise unless that is what you are looking for.

I installed a K&N CAI the morning after getting my ‘20 TRDOR to improve the truck’s dismal throttle response. It has worked really well for that. It will also increase the noise at higher RPMs (borderline annoying). Outside of that, I haven’t seen much performance enhancements from it (MPG or horse power etc).
