This happens to me all the time in the winter. The window will thaw and be movable if you get it warm enough - the problem is frozen condensation forming on the joint between the window and the seal. Don't hit the window - thats a good way to break it. You can sometimes get a credit card in there and work that along if the ice isn't too thick. A hair dryer works well if you really need it open.

Run the heater with the AC on the dry out your interior and this should abate.

The clutch thing is just it being cold. Let the truck idle for a few minutes before moving and it will loosen up.

My favorite part is how the shocks get stiff and the truck rides like shit.

you can try using rainx on the windows too. works here in mass. inside and out. dont bother with the windshield i hate it for that but works great for frozen to the gasket windows. if you have problems with the door gaskets freezing use a little rub of any silicone clear grease and wipe off the excess. this also keeps you from not getting into your vehicles in the wintertime... ymmv good luck

FYI, when you put your vehicle on defrost, it uses the ac to de-humidify your interior. So, there is no reason why you need to turn on the ac.

at the end of the day all vehicles are subject to this in cold weather, when i worked up on the north slope in -30 ambient temps with wind chill temps regularly in the -60's, we kept our vehicles running 24hrs./day heat on high etc...... diesels with high idle kits on them for sitting for extended periods, the transmissions would be shit for shifting gears along with the normal, we had this one truck that was a stick shift it was my assigned vehicle and the clutch peddle was almost non existent, push in and it would stick then pop up, what a pain in the ass it was to drive in those temps. maintenance is key for any vehicle in cold or hot temps. ample warm up time and never wash vehicle in extreme cold temps. ive had door locks freeze, tailgates, hoods and gas doors freeze and it all sucks.

    Hi everyone,
My first post along with my first Toyota, a 2012 Tacoma Sport DC 4x4. At less than 1000 mi on the clock I have exerpienced the frozen window seals mentioned here. I'm in Baltimore, MD a very mild region in comparison to most, but including today I have had issues with my windows lowering at any temp 30 and below. I haven't washed the truck or had precipitation when this occurs. It is frosty in the mornings pre dawn when I go to work. Problem is I have to show an ID two times when entering my workplace and have had to stop and get out of my truck because the windows are frozen/stuck. At least two times the driver window did open after a momentary pause followed by a very disturbing loud bang. I know better than to do that again. I could spray silicone on the outer seal but don't want that mess all over the windows when they do lower. Rain X is on the windows now and has not helped. I am about to call the dealer but really don't have time to run out there with the job and family demands.
Has anyone been to the dealer for this problem? and if they had a fix, what did they do?

    Thanks,

    warrior79
