Sold the timbrens to homertaco and got a set of these to test out. gonna weld on some tabe and try them out as is, but i'll probably take them back off and chop the top off for some more travel. goal is to have them squish to half of the stock bump, at wich point i still have about an inch of shock travel left.

I just tacked Ryan's to his flip plate at the corners and a few along the sides. It should be simple enough to remove with a cutoff wheel or you could just take the flip plate off if you want to trim them.

i have some tabs with holes already drilled in them that i never used for another project. since i already have the stainless bolts that fit the tapped holes in the flip kit i figure i'll just weld the tabs on and call it a day.

i hear ya. I considder myself lucky though. when i'm down here we have access to all of the "go fast" stuff, which i absolutely love, and then when i'm up in Virginia (where i'm from and my family is), it's nothing but rocks. great crawling. it's interesting too, trying to build a vehicle that can do both. lots of trial and error on part selections and setups.

where'd you wheel inflorida? we mostly stick to Citrus WMA and Ocala, with some side trips to some of the smaller places. I actually me a guy this summer up in virginia who raced baja in the late 80s, but they built and tested their truck in Ocala. it was cool to hear all of his stories.

made it back from Colorado yesterday. saw a ton of great toyotas out there. couple FJs with Domello bumpers, a first gen with an all pro, and then every toyota suv.truckwith an ARB.

broke my cb antenna clear off in Ocala a few months ago, and finally got a new one on today. went for a tunable one that's a little shorter. hopefully a tree branch doesn't eat this one too.

What rotors/pads did you buy? I hate the shitty steel Toyota uses. I'm tired of my brakes somewhat sticking when I wash the wheels

left earlier this morning for the 900 mile trek back to florida. knocked out 570 miles today. normally i drive the entire 900 in one day, but i figured it was wise to have a good nights rest towing a boat.

heaviest hall i've ever had though. the boats loaded up with all kinds of stuff for the 1090 mile "adventure trip" it will be taking in a few months. it was just winterized too, which means it's got 80 gallons of fuel in it (i normally tow empty). the total package is probably sitting right at 6500 lbs, with a toung weight of around 400 lbs. to add insut to injury, i also have about 500 lbs of gear, tools, clothes, etc between the bed and cab.

all in all though, i'm very pleased with how it's pulled thus far. first time i'd towed the big boat with the 295s too.

hmmm.... not sure about that hat...

didn't realize cowboys lived in houses like that and towed nice boats behind nice trucks....

i lead a double life :spy:

but really, the house and boat are not mine unfortunately. as my father nears retirement, he's got too much time on his hands and decided he wanted to take a tiny boat like that from miami to norfolk, VA. and i get the privelage of trailer duty......

they're nice. a little too tall for my setup, so i'm going to shave a little off of the top of them before wheeling next week. on road they seem to handle similarly to the timbrens, just stiffer with a tad more rebound.
