    Yes,
The budbuilt skids are setup to Bolt right up with no issues. As you well know I bricked my way down trail 13 so every once in a while the transfer case skid vibrates against the drop down section of the exhaust.
I'd like to relo it and eliminate the skid spacer altogether...
Just another thing on the list...

My y-pipe rattles on my tcase skid every once in a while. When it's cool I just try to rotate the rubber grommets up as high as they will go and that seems to solve the problem for a while.

I have hit it several times on rocks and some parts are dents smaller but it seems to have actually made it hang lower... it just won't die... haha. My muffler is pretty banged up too. I wonder if there is extra back pressure on the motor from that and that is why it seems to have lost some of its power...

One or two things modded... Check out the build thread
I can easily see that causing power loss. I dropped into a rut a while back and landed on the passenger side rear mud flap as well as the exhaust pipe. bent one of the bends in the pipe around to make it look like a snake's head. and I could tell the entire way home that the truck didnt want to get up and go on stop lights and especially not getting on the interstate ramp. so when i got home took a cut off wheel to the exhaust and decided to make the cut after the dump and took the truck for a drive and it was instantly back to normal. so that could be true with your truck.

kind of can see the unnatural bend in this pick,

i hope that mine's causing some losses lol. it'd be nice to see a little bonus from this pipe, other than fixing the holes and dents.

You do know that the stock manifolds have studs in them where you will be attaching that y-pipe, right?

A little PB blaster works miracles. I got my exhaust off no problems after 6 years of wheeling and Chicagoland winters with salty roads, you shouldn't have a problem.

not anymore. 3 out of 4 studs broke off, so it's got a series of 1 CM long welds around the flange, holding it together. last time i did any exhaust work, i was rushed, so i didn't have the time to drill out the broken bolts.

I hate pressed in studs on hot componentls like that. jsut going to drill them out and use some easily replacible nuts and bolts this time.

on the plus side, a guy i work with is big into classic cars, and sait he's gone here a few times http://diyautorepairkc.com/index.html i've been looking for a place like this for so long. gues i'll be spending some time there this weekend :)

    They're threaded in.

Either way sucks to drill them out.

And F paying $150/day to use a lift!

the part that you put the wrench on to get them out is what broke off, and vise grip no worky :(

i should only need a couple hours with the lift. much better than drilling bolts, laying on your back, in the middle of an extended stay hotel parking lot. $40 +/- seems well worth it compared to the alternative at the moment.

    Whatever floats yer boat :p

I did the travel/extended stay thing for a few years. It actually wasn't that bad bc the extended stay emptied out on the weekends so it was just me and everyone who didn't speak-a-de-engrish left :D

I may be biased as I have been laying on the ground under my truck for a year now!

i normally don't mind laying on the ground. i've never had a lift, so i've been rolling around on the concrete/pavement since since day 1. it's just that drilling bolts is my absolute least favorite thing to do, so for the sake of my sanity, the small fee is worth it.

and my extended stay get's more crowded on the weekends

luckily the shaded spot in the back corner of the lot seems to stay open most of the time for when i want to work.

3 of my 4 broke as well. I just cut them flush and drilled them out. No biggie.

I had PB'd mine for a week and even heated them up after I found they would not budge.

agreed. and i use FB as more of a photo hosting site than anything anyway. quality isn't as good as photobucket, but it's good enough for copying over here.

that's what i'm going to end up doing. got the grinder ready to cut, dremel ready to clean up the flange and gasket surface, and a fresh drillbit for what's left of the bolts.

I'm in and out during the day. Haha can't use my phone in most of my classes...

If that is causing power loss it is really tempting to upgrade now... haha. I haven't wanted to because I like my exhaust being quiet other than when I really get on it. Since I run about 2700rpm on the freeway it would be nice to find a muffler that is pretty quiet under like 3500 rpm. Haha

Pretty sure long tubes, y-pipe and muffler would get loud fast... haha

I noticed no real increase in noise from the Pipe bomb but everything else I have is stock.
