new ones have a nice solid amount of antiseize on them. so unless i'm actually hard enough on them to distort the threads, they should come off much easier next time.

I'd never take them off and put them back on. Way to cheap a part to re-use IMHO. I'm on my third set and I keep the second set as spares just in case.

Here's a very good resource for them with great tech info.

yeah, there's definitely two mindsets when it comes to reusing u-bolts. there are numbers to support either one. there are some applications that i would 100% never reuse ubolts in, but i feel reusing them on my setup (not talking about reusing them 10 times or anything of that nature of course)

pretty sure that's two women high fiving.........what are you trying to say

    lol

That's funny... I just saw the toytec shims in the new 4wd Toyota owner magazine. One of the "under $50 Christmas gift guide" lol.

I've been trying to diagnose some vibrations, so I've been wondering if maybe I need shims or a carrier bearing drop. When I ordered my leaf springs all pro told me the expos don't need shims... But idk how true that is. And since I'm a dclb I've always assumed my carrier bearing angle would be fine since it's a longer drive shaft than the shorter trucks. My carrier bearing its self may be shot though :notsure:

i've never seen a CB drop solve a vibration issue. in actuality, it just throws off your angles further, since you now don't have the DS coming straing out of the transfer case.

the shims soome to be a much better option. you just see so many people with the drop but no shims because they see the 2 minute drop instal, vs a half hour shim instal.

since we don't run double cardains (sp), you want to pinion to match the output from the transfer case. shims get you pretty darn close.

I have some vibes too with the Dakars. Shims and an extra front lean spacer are on my list soon!

I dropped the CB and it hasn't helped anything. All it's really done is made me more paranoid that I fucked something up

How did you attach the mount for the rear shock reservoirs? Existing hole or drill and bolt?
