Colinb17's kinda sorta build thread - now with 4-link and long travel

All Pro standards, 12" Kings, Shock hoops.

 

i'll be keeping my toolbox with my bedcage. just angling the shocks towards the rear instead of the front.

all i can guess is we have different line choice styles. i probably scrape somewhere else all of the time that you don't. but my hangers are untouched

 

exactly. and longer shackles if you want to sit a little lower without removing leafs and killing your load capacity.

 

that's still a bolt-on, no fab required.....

I am planning on running the shocks off of the back of the axle and either angling straight up and down or slightly back if needed. I think I can fit straight up and down unless there isn't enough room for the hoop between the shock and toolbox. I'm hoping I can keep my bed extender, but that might be iffy since I am going to run the shocks inside the frame to avoid running wheel spacers and cutting my bedsides for now.

 

I have a set I am not going to use if you want them.

both of our concepts are sound, now it's just the logistics that need ironing out lol

Being a single cab, it will lower you half an inch, and in return give approx 1-2" droop

 

I used the stock shackles when I first did the kit because I had not painted them.
I ended up getting a coat of flat black on them but never got around to switching them out.
Now I'm going with the other setup - won't need these... They are gathering dust in my shop very effectively though.

 

you will probably have a very hard time fully flexing expos with how light you are. if you want the full 3'' lift, defined makes those same shackles in stock length.

 

I hope it works out! haha I wish I knew how to weld and what not so I could make it. I'll probably learn some from this but I doubt I will learn quick enough to trust my welds to hucking my heavy rig...

Got a quick question for you:

Do you have a shot of your cab mount & firewall mods? I'd like to compare notes...

Right now I'm fine driving on the street, but I don't want to wheel it until I made some more room.

I've got to replace the lower control arm bolts and bushings - at the same time I'll go with an aftermarket UCA to get more camber which will help too.

I just like to get a closer look at how you did it.

the little rub I have left is only at full flex, and only makes a little sound. no functional impact.
