is cars and coffee tomorrow/you and jeff going? you could always just mug me there and take all of my toys. if my trip to the shop goes as planned today after work, i'll have a jeff-proof 1/10 scale rock crawler up and running before tomorrow.

 

Damn it! It is tomorrow! Arggggh. I have to work in the morning. Might have to make it out there regardless.

that small 1/24 scale would actually be perfect for Kyle. doesn't go fast enough, or have enough weight/power to do any real damage to itself or anything else. but still an absolute blast to drive.

 

I'm tempted. I'll probably be able to make it up there with y'all. I've never been to TORR yet so i'd love to go.

Nothing new with the truck at the moment, other than breaking my 4th CB antenna.

just getting ready for the slew of offroad trips coming up. which mostly means getting a bunch of my RCs ready

also got a camera for christmas, so now i can take some decent pictures out wheeling without relying on the go pro and cell phone. set it up in a pelican case this evening.

 

How do you keep breaking them? Are they on a spring?

Jeff told me about the RC truck at C & C. Seems that eve if his aura is near it, something will break. So much for Jeff-proof. Lol

 

broke 2 (firestik and a full length whip) when they hit low branches going fast off road. not sure how the other one broke (half length whip with a tunable mid section). just came out to my truck one day and it was no longer on top. and that was in florida, where inever went in parking garages. and this most recent one was my fault. i typically leave it folded down during the week because i park in a garage at work, but forgot to fold it down after last weekend, and snap went the base. probably go with a 2-3 foot fiberglass on a medium duty spring, all on top of the existing quick-collapse.

 

I broke my 4 foot Wilson during the summer. I didn't have it on a spring because you can grab it and fold it into a circle no problem. Well that worked great right up until a branch caught it right at the base. Basically just sheered it off. I just put my 5 ft firestik on and it is on a spring that is a bit light for it. It stands fine, but sways all over the place at 30. Haven't got to see it at 75 yet. haha

 

haha, no, the one that is jeff proof is legit jeff proof. the other one (that he crashed before) just had a set screw on the flysheel come loose, so the motor just spun without sending power to the wheels. nothing broke, just needed some fresh locktight
