lol, i'm generally pretty good with the editing itself, but i really don't enjoy software troubleshooting. and by "don't enjoy", i mean i'm terrible at it.

Well, no luck with the dash cam last night. got everything installed, and i keep popping fiuses with the charging cable. tripple and quadroople checked the wireing i did, and there is no flaw. so there is either a bad component in the charger, or the mini USB cable got pinched somewhere and has a short in it. I didn't get a change to brake out the multimeter and check continuity last night, but when i do, that should tell me which of the two potential problems is actually the one. wheeling this weekend, so i won't get around to fixing it until sunday at the earliest.

Nathan, i charged up the camera, so at the very least, we can shoot a quick video and toss it onto my laptop at camp to see what kind of image quality we are dealing with.

That's a bummer. We'll take a look at the footage and see how it does.

I figured it out after I paid for someone's "hardwire kit" that consisted of the female cigarette lighter plug and a pigtail. There was no way that was going to fit up in the roof. Had to come up with a new idea.

I bet that you have another charger laying around the house that would work for testing purposes. Just match up the supplied power and you'll be good. Not that it's going to do you any good for this weekend though.

yeah, i have a ton of extras sitting around. just need to crack on open and go for round 2. i actually have the charger in the dash, at the very bottom of the a-pillar. lots of room down there, as long as your usb charge cable has the length to get to the camera.

and i do even have a female 12v. this is from my portable solar charging kit.

Wheeled Shiloh Ridge offroad park this weekend with a nice small group.

not a lot of rocks, but lots of washouts, so you pretty much needed lockers or lots of suspension, to keep from having to rely on the skinny pedal too often.

asside from some minor scuffs and dings here and there, two driveshafts were the only components claimed this weekend.

I believe this is only the 4th wheeling trip with the Hankooks, but i am still very pleased. durable, flexable, and grip just about anything so far.

These two are for whoever was asking about whether my tire hit the rear bumper or not. I still need to alter the bumper wings to match the trimmed fenders, but i do indeed clear it as is (barely)

Looks like y'all had a good time. That was me asking about the bumper/tire clearance. And what pressure were you running in your tires? I drop mine to about 18 or 15 last citrus trip, not sure if i should consider a little lower or not.

i set the deflators to 15 psi when i first got them from you, but i think the springs have broken in and softened up, because i was measuring closer to 12 psi this weekend, after i took them off.

your pressure will depend highly on what your rim will hold. toyota factory alloys tend to hold a low pressure bead better than aftermarket. just make sure you have a compressor on you, and you can experiment.

Yeah, 15 seemed pretty good for me. I will probably stick with that. Might buy a set of those deflatirs before the next big trip. So much easier that way. David from south Florida had one of those fancy arb air chucks but it was too fancy for my liking.

way easier! i'll do mine and then let someone else use it. both of us will be done before the guy doing them one by one, by hand. and you don't have to kneel down in the dirt for 10 minutes.

I just sold my stauns and got an ARB EZ-deflator. Got tired of waiting for my stauns to deflate after my buddies with the ARB were done already. Its a touch more "work" with the ARB, but a lot quicker. Removing the valve core lets the air out so much quicker. The stauns can only let air out so fast when the valve core is still there.

Plus the ARB EZ deflator is only $38 shipped on ebay :D

yeah, i've used the ARB before. very nice and fast tool. most of the folks i wheel with don't have anything that quick though, so i don't need that kind of speed quite yet.

i did consider the powertank valves though at one point. talk about fast

Yeah trying to spend more time wheeling/less time dicking around lol.

Ditched the Staun's for the ARB, and ditching the OBA for some C02 soon as well.
