At the beach for a week and a half, starting today, but after that, let's make it happen.

I know I've seen it in here but can't remember what page the aux fuel tank was discussed. I'm looking to add one to my rig but wanna see how the fuel filler neck for the aux tank was handled and the plumbing

In the top picture how is that fill hose connecting to the red tank?

kind of hard to description the coupler!hose clamp combo used. I'll have to just take a photo for you. Regarding your PM, here's the two tees I made. Couldn't figure out the ID of the filler neck hose through research, as it seems no one has cut one apart before. After slicing the rubber beck in half and determining which one fits, you trim out roughly an inch, so that with the tee, you are not adding any length. Clamp the tee in place, and then plumb the rest of the systemimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Paint to the rescue. This is the connection I was referring to. Yellow arrow:

I have been trying to figure out if a Doug Thorely Pipe Bomb y-pipe will work with my BudBuilt skids (full set), and came across your thread. I read several pages but didn't find a definitive answer. The pics are helpful - thanks for those - but I figured I would just ask. Do you know if a Pipe Bomb will fit with unmodified BudBuilts?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately I can't give you a yes or no answer. I'm running modified all pro skids. They are modified for ground clearance though, and required no modification to fit the DT y-pipe.

The Yellow sharp tones have a tone more akin to the bearded manliness of an expo/car-crushing/rally-racing truck like yours?

That certainly do. Similar to stock, but equally as loud as the supertones.

Supertones are going on the Fiero now.

Colin, you mentioned a pair of stick-on rear light guards for a 3rd gen Tacoma. Can you tell me where you got them? Have you found steel or aluminum guards?

Any reason why you're using the 10w-40? How many miles do you have? i.e. do you need the thicker oil?

Been a LONG time since I updated this thread, but big things coming!

Long story short, due to "life" I haven't done a lot Tacoma related the last several years, but we're back at it now.

Goal is to build a KOH-esque vehicle. Good at slow technical stuff, but also good at going fast. Ultimately I would like to take it to KOH in a couple of years. To start, I'm taking the bed off, chopping the frame off at the cab, and doing a full tube back half, which will also integrate into a cage.

Rear is going to be a triangulated 4-link on coilovers. I've got a bit of a timeline to get the truck back up and running, so I've got the majority of the arts showing up the next week or two as I start the dismantling.

Most exciting of the parts arrived today. 18" dual rate king coilovers standing at 4 feet tall fully extended, I'm super excited to start the race trucks stage of this tacoma's life.

    upload_2024-1-27_21-55-53.png

    upload_2024-1-27_21-56-28.png

Part of what's allowing me the freedom for this is that I sold the fiero earlier in 2023 and bought a kie truck which I've lightly modified. Couldn't have designed a more perfect work truck/daily driver for my businesses.

    upload_2024-1-27_21-58-1.png

Stay tuned for more. This should be an interesting build the next couple of months if nothing else....

Robert!!!! Glad you still hang out in here. I still tell people your story about the badass who broke the dummy pedal tracking his 4runner so hard. Late nights in Marks garage are certainly in the "core memory" category.
