    It's about time you got a proper ass and for that matter a proper strap on(refering to the snatch strap, haven't looked in here in a little while :eek:)

    How about gusseting the receiver like it is on the cbi's where the gusset does double duty as holes for the chains to go through? It looks great by the way.

    that's actually exactly my plan. i'm getting a set of these

    I'll be making the rest of my gussets by hand. i just don't have the tools to cut gussets like the above very effectively

    well, i was planning on bending it back, but i looked under there about a week ago, and the bent part had broken completely off. gues i don't have to worry about it anymore :D
    I also have a set of 2'' u-bolts turned sideways that i use to keep the leafs in line, so i figure with those, the factory retainer is pretty useless anyways.

    Same thing happened to me with my stock leafs. I clearanced the gas tank skid when I put my Dakars on to keep the issue from happening.

    Bumper looks awesome! People always get extra points for building their own stuff! Wish I had fab skills :eek:

    I'm a little embarassed to say this, but i spend a little money on something non functional in the off road world. came across a good deal and couldn't ass it up. got a sub box, amp, and two subs now. sounds great, but it's a weird feeling to have done something that doesn't help the truck's off road ability.

    However......it gave me a nice place to put the plate that Wyatt gave me :)

    biggest concern was that i didn't leave enough room for it to flex and it would hit the body/flare. fortunately, under a static load, it flexes up less than 1/8''. obvously a dynamic load (hit something while wheeling) will flrx it more, but i'm happy with what i saw so far
