i'm sure at some point, a longer slider would have helped. problem is that there is already a fairly long unsupported length of slider atthe back. if they were any longer, you'd have to ad an extra leg, which is hard in the back, were the frame bends up. doable, but you'd probably have to modify the body, which i'd assume most aren't capable of, or want to do.

Yep. An up leg would be in order. I notched the plates on mine so they sit as far forward as possible. After seeing yours now I need to keep a better eye when I'm "in the woods" with mine.

this one cought me off guard. i hit the tree about half way up the slider and ran along it like i normally would. never done it with a tree that small before though. i'm used to the tree/rock transfering right from the kickout to the tire. not the case with this one........

i was going to get a lot of the trailer done on tuesday, but working on my bedside took longer than i thought.

I just have a lot of little odds and ends to tie up on the truck. got some regular maintenance to take care of. also have a project or two for other people

What rears are those? Wonder if they're any longer than all the other oem replacements.

those are their stock replacement bypasses. they've beentesting them like crazy on their 4-runner. this is the first time i've seen them on the tacoma. they're probably the same length as any other aftermarket extended travel rear. shock. with stock shock mounts, you can get more drop out of the factory leaf pack and shackle, but the shock body will get in the way of up travel with too long of a shock, so you're fairly limited with how long you can make the shock for stock mounts.

gotta come back to ocala to test it.........

good discussion in the MT BS thread today. i don't think some of the people understand how a short body works though. that and the fact that there are different types of short bodies, and either people don't realize that, just don't want to talk about it.
    hell yeah man!

How do the guard dogs hold up on highway? I'm guessing you have a lot of highway miles on them going from Florida to nova. I'm pretty well decided on them but just want to know more about highway performance

I just got them in June, so i don't have too many miles on them yet. some other members do though, and the general consensus is that on trucks our weight, you can get about 40-45k out of them if you don't drive like you're in a video game. at about half the price, that's like getting 80-90k out of a "regular" mud terrain.

I think they handle great on-road. they make about the same amount of noise as most other mud tires.

just keep them inflated properly, and they'll serve you well.
