Are those the stock rims that came on your Tacoma? If so, how did you get them painted black? what was the cost?

not yet. been in the middle of nowhere, north dakota for the last two weeks working on a project. flying back to houston tomorrow. still have 3 more weeks in houston before i go back to florida to get the rest of my stuff (tools included).

yep, stock sport wheels. i just lightly sanded them down, cleaned them well, and sprayed a couple coats of rustoleum bedliner on them. the stuff ranges from $7-$9 a can, and it takes about a can per wheel to get a nice thick coat. you could probably get away with 2-3 cans if you did lighter coats.

Edit: welcome to the forum!

Yeah the one that is currently on there. I like how it slopes back where you have your tire. It has a way cooler look that just a traditional rectangle one.

Edit: I am just looking for ideas on how I want mine to look/function. I want it to incorporate tool box, OBA, High lift, maxtrax(something similar)...ETC.

Yea I've looked on Amazon a few times. I bought a camera from there to mount on my swing out but it sucks ass.

If you are happy with the quality of the image and how wide the viewing area is, I'd like to use that camera. The mounting bracket looks good too.

If you could find it on amazon or check your purchases for the name so I can get the same ones I'd appreciate it.

I'll repost the pictures of it tonight when i have some more time.

I'm very happy with the design and versatility. it has or has had just about everything on your list mounted to it at one point or another.

I'm happy with it. decent viewing angle and good clarity. color is a little off, but i feel like even most factory backups are.

The one on my rear is actually going bad. the picture is getting washed out and overexposed. front one seems to be doing well though. deffinately a hit or miss with them. it's deffinately a cheap chinese product, but at the price, i don't mind if i have to replace one or two. i could buy 6 of these things before i hit the price of a brand name camera that would probably have the same image quality.

looks like there was actually a price drop. pretty significant. i think i paid almost $25 a pop for them before.

Oh man, I love your drawings :D

How ya been man? haven't heard from you in a while.

What are you looking to do with your air system? As far as everything being hooked up properly, you're good to go, and seem to have covered all of your bases.

I ask what it's for though because of the tank. the majority of the time, a tank in an OBA system is useless. If you're going to use it to fill tires or power air tools, you'd need an absolutely giant tank. even the larger 7 gallon tank that viar sells won't do you much good. when at full pressure, even a tank of that size will be equalized with the pressure in your tires in a matter of seconds. therefore, even with all of that air in there at a relatively high pressure, your compressor is still doing 100% of the work to fill your tires, a mere 20 seconds after you start.

The only real reason for a tank on an OBA system is if you are powering air lockers, and don't want to hear that couple seconds of the compressor buzzing every time you turn the lockers on, or having te ability to briefly blow things off with an air nozzle.

the size range of tanks you see viar selling are ideal for a truck/train horn sized air consumption, but i don't imagine that's why you're adding the system.......right? :p

So, bottom line, if you are using the compressor to fill tires, the setup will be just as effective without the tank. for lockers, you see the benefit with the compressor not having to fire off fora couple seconds each time you activate a locker.

short of a belt driven compressor, CO2 is really the ultimate. Some of the non-toyota/tacoma guys i wheel with from VA/MD who use CO2 wheel every few weeks. they fill their tires, sometimes other peoples tires, run air tools when needed, and power their lokers from a single 20 lb CO2 tank strapped in the back, and only fill it every year or longer.

but in the end, 100% your call. your drawing is correct, so if that's what you want, i'll be looking for install pictures

Nice, a small tank will definitely work for a water system. I didn't knwo you showered though

Glad you're able to enjoy the beech. hows everyone/thing coming after sandy?

That leak is for your own good. Truck realizes how hard you wheel and decided that even the outside of the CV needed to be loooobed, because newyawk stylz!

Yeah, nothing fancy. just a 7'' screen with video (no audio) inputs. got a 3 way switch that is actually for hooking up multiple video game systems of dvd players up to a single input on the tv. look up rca splitter on Amazon. should only be about $10

It's really an easy thing to set up. mounting and positioning is probably the hardest part. or in my case, finding time :( should have more within the next month though.

    couple more.

You said you wanted to mount max trax. i don't have those, but i have carried loading ramps to be used as bridging ladders or traction aids. i have wanted to make a permanent mounting system for them, but for now, it's just tie-down straps.
