Yeah, we're kinda disorganized because of the summer. Everyone gets busy and we don't really get trips planned. I want to do one in the beginning of August out to Sicily Island. Not sure if you'll still be in houston though

Thanks! That is great setup. It is going to be a while before I actually tackle this project. Money is a little tight at the moment so truck stuff needs to be put on the back burner (truck is mostly the reason). Plus I have to learn how to weld first :anonymous:. It will take a decent amount of practice before I would start the bed rack. I have a couple of welder friends that will get tricked into helping me once I start.

yeah, i love the solo kit. only concern is width. i haven't seen a number for it yet as to how wide over stock it is. since i spend a lot of time on really tight trails, it's a game of inches. even to the point that i was, and still may consider the +2'' kit from TC. but after really thinking about it, i think i could still effectively crawl a 3.5'' kit on the tight trails. if the solo kit is more than 3.5 over, it's probably a no-go.

I wouldn't worry about it, after wheeling rausch with the uni-mog I learned you can make any turn if the tires are exposed. Just put the rear tire up against the obstacle and rotate.

haha, that's what we use sliders for :D

i'm more worried about fitting than making turns though. i've run into a couple of places in florida that caused me problems. one was where there was a tree on one side and a boulder on the other, and they were just close enought that we couldn't fit through. had to make a pretty difficult 180 to head back out the way we came. and the below resulted.......

I have been contemplating a +2" kit for a while but after the pits this weekend I think even that is too wide

mike, a 3.5'' kit puts your track width at about the same width as your mirrors, so if you can get through somewhere with your mirrors out, LT shouldn't be much/if any worse. i do fold my mirrors in on tighter trails, but it's just to help with scratching, not because they won't actually fit. i think you'd do great with the +2'' TC

Fold in mirrors? Meh, where's Coil, he watched me flip one back and forth against a tree as I worked my way over some rocks.
